Quantica is an additive manufacturing technology company that has developed its own printhead technology. Our novel printhead technology enables professionals to print using functional materials previously deemed impossible.

Quantica´s headquarters is located in Berlin at Innovationspark Wuhlheide. We employ people from a multitude of disciplines, such as printhead engineers, material scientists, physicists, mechanical engineers, electronic engineers, software developers, system engineers as well as business specialists. As our team comes from diverse backgrounds and from all five continents our most used and default language is English.

Role & Responsibilities

We are currently looking for an ambitious and self motivated Hardware Engineer to grow our technical team in the Barcelona office. As an addition to our in-house development, you will help develop hardware and electronics for the next generation of 3D printers by collaborating with the firmware, software and mechanics teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing embedded electronic systems and subsystems, including piezo drivers, power electronics and motor control
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, firmware, and other electrical engineers, to integrate electronic systems into our products
  • Preparing and reviewing the design documentation for product release including specifications, schematics and bill of materials
  • Providing support in production and certification activities

Education & Experience

You´ll fit great in this role if you have:

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, preferably MSc qualification
  • At least 5 years of experience in hardware development, preferably in a fast-growing team and environment
  • Experience in designing electrical systems with Microprocessor, memory devices, power system, high speed transceivers, and various serial interfaces such as I2C, I2S, SPI, UART, USB, and other high-speed signals
  • Strong experience in power electronics principles, including gate drivers, power supplies and protection circuits
  • Proficiency in Schematic and PCB Design (Eagle, KiCad)
  • Experience with PCB manufacturing, assembly, and testing processes
  • Strong laboratory skills with electronic equipment for testing, debugging and verification of prototypes
  • Fluent speaking and excellent writing skills in English
  • Willingness to travel abroad (20%)
